Restoring Full Board Strength
The Watercolour Management Company is delighted to announce that the board of directors has been restored to full capacity, following the recent appointment of several new members. Earlier this year, three out of the five previous board members stepped down, resulting in the board being unable to fully address the Estate’s pressing operational needs. Recognising the urgency of the situation, the remaining board members, together with our Estate Managing Agents, Trinity, took prompt action to rectify the shortfall.
Recruitment Process
To strengthen the board, Trinity issued a call for volunteers, reaching out to all leaseholders and freeholders via both email and post. This appeal generated a strong response, highlighting the community’s enthusiasm and willingness to contribute towards collective improvements. After a careful selection process, conducted in consultation with Trinity, seven additional directors were appointed. This brings the board’s total membership to nine. The size and composition of the board will continue to be reviewed and adjusted as needed to maintain effective governance.
Board Composition and Transparency
The new board comprises eligible applicants, chosen for the relevance of the skills they declared during the application process. In line with our commitment to openness, we are dedicated to consulting the wider Watercolour community on key decisions, especially where increased expenditure is proposed. This inclusive approach signals a shift from past practice, ensuring that the community’s perspectives are taken into account in our decision-making process.
Future Engagement
The board is committed to holding an Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the spring of 2026. The exact date will be confirmed once all records have been received from the previous directors and the annual accounts finalised. Looking forward, we are considering setting up a residents’ panel or working groups to focus on specific tasks, recognising the benefits of involving more members from the wider community. We welcome feedback on this idea and encourage anyone interested in participating to get in touch via Trinity (Contacts).
Thank You for Helping to Build Watercolour’s Future
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stepped forward to support our estate. Along with the commitment of our new board —all serving as unpaid volunteers— this remains central to Watercolour’s enduring appeal. Here’s to a bright future, driven by the residents of our Watercolour community!
