Due to ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour, littering, and repeated incidents of young people dangerously jumping from the structure, the decision has been made to reduce the size of the viewing platform by the lagoon on Holmesdale Avenue.
While the platform was originally intended to enhance public enjoyment of the area, its misuse has raised serious safety and maintenance concerns. By scaling it down to around half the size it is currently, the aim is to remove the element of being able to jump into the lake from the platform and reduce the impact of anti-social and abusive behaviour, while still allowing visitors to appreciate the natural beauty of the lagoon.
UPDATE ON ONGOING WORKS (09/07/25): Unfortunately due to the structure's frame, the viewing platform could not be reduced in size and has therefore been repositioned to align with the hedge line. Visitors and residents can still enjoy views over the lake from this spot, while the new placement helps deter antisocial and unsafe behaviour.
